Friendly & independent · Herefordshire
Worried your floors might be slippery? Let’s find out.
We measure exactly how much grip your floors have — wet and dry — and tell you plainly whether they’re safe. No jargon, no scare tactics, and a clear report you can keep on file. Covering all of Herefordshire and the Marches.
The higher the number, the safer the floor — 36+ is what you want
The honest truth
A clean floor and a safe floor aren’t the same thing
You can mop a floor until it gleams and it can still be a slip risk the moment it’s wet. The only way to know for sure is to measure the grip — and that’s all we do. We come out, test the floors that matter, and give you a straight answer.
We’re independent and UKAS-accredited, and because we don’t sell flooring or treatments, we’ve no reason to tell you a floor needs work it doesn’t.
Your questions, answered
The things people usually ask us
Q.How would I even know if my floor’s a problem?
Honestly, you usually can’t tell by looking. A floor that seems perfectly fine can turn dangerous the moment it’s wet. That’s the whole point of testing — we measure the grip instead of guessing at it.
Q.Is it going to be a big disruption?
Not at all. The test is quick and tidy, we work around you, and there’s nothing to clear up afterwards. Most places just carry on as normal while we’re there.
Q.What does it cost?
It depends on how many areas you want checked and where you are, so we give you one fixed price up front — no surprises and no obligation to go ahead.
Q.What if my floor doesn’t pass?
Don’t panic — most floors that fail can be sorted without ripping anything out, and quite often it’s just a change to how they’re cleaned. We’ll tell you the simplest fix and re-test to make sure it worked.
Q.Do I actually need this?
If your floor gets wet, the public walk on it, someone’s had a slip, or an insurer or inspector has asked — then yes, it’s worth doing. It’s the proof that your floors are safe.
Q.Are you the real deal?
We’re a UKAS-accredited testing firm, and the report we give you is the kind that stands up with inspectors, insurers and the courts. Proper testing, friendly people.
What the number means
One simple score per floor
Every area we test gets a Pendulum Test Value. The bigger the number, the more grip the floor has and the lower the chance of a slip.
36 or more is the level the safety people (the HSE) treat as safe — roughly a one-in-a-million chance of a slip. More on this →
